I’m Sly

Oh yes! I’m Sly!
Why shouldn’t I be?
It’s in my blood, in my genes,
In my royal family.
If only you were me you’d see,
Sly is what I’m meant to be !

I’m cunning with the words I sew,
And like a snake it’s venom I spew.
I hiss and howl and snarl too,
On a witch’s broom I flew,
Out into the great wide blue.
Stay alarmed my friends! I warn,
My prey could as well be YOU too!

Cruel, sneering, nasty,
Filled with evil qualities,
That’s what I’ve grown to be,
Be warned y’all I’m tricky.

A bugging pest is all you’ll see,
When you take a look at me.
Wicked witty little me,
Why don’t you try to see,
It’s what I’ve been taught to be,
By my noble family.

No doubt I’m Sly!
Why shouldn’t I be?
It’s in my blood, in my genes
In my royal family
If only you were me you’d see
Sly is what I’m meant to be !

Little Devil

At the tender age of 2, my parents saw in me,
my destiny and future, and what I would be.
So they hired the best teacher to educate and train me,
and my classes with Satan started immediately.

He taught me everything that there was to know,
he helped me turn wicked, he helped me to grow.
I was his most favourite student, and why wouldn’t I be,
after all it was his childhood that he saw in me.

The title I’ve earned is ‘Little Devil’ as you can see,
and I earned it after long, from Satan personally.
I’m a qualified devil, so very proud I feel,
and on the first day of work, I got a big deal.

I was hired to stalk an angel, with a halo over her head,
and they wanted her badly, alive or even dead.
And so I went to find her, near a garden full of trees,
I tripped, fell, and even got stung by swarming bees.

I wasn’t being clumsy, no, that wasn’t the cause,
she had caught me by surprise and given my head a toss.
Her soft white wings, and golden cascading hair,
her sweet mesmerising smile and halo in the air.

I had fallen for her, and now there was no way back,
she wants charm and compassion, both of which I lack.
So I regained my evil senses, and focused once again,
I was going to have to do this, even if it caused pain.

And so with a heavy heart I proceeded towards her,
the menacing devil targeting the angel of nurture.
One shot of my deadly arrow, and down she fell,
disappearing from my sight, dropping towards hell.

My trembling injured heart could bear no more,
and so without a thought, I sliced open my core.
Maybe I didn’t want to be so bad after all,
now too late to change anything, I took a big fall.
